Mt Ngauruhoe at sundown

Mount Ngauruhoe is found on the North Island of New Zealand. It is the youngest vent in the Tongariro volcanic complex. It was used as the location for Mount Doom in The Lord of the Rings film trilogy. It lies between Mount Ruapehu to the south and Mount Tongariro to the north. This photograph, taken at sunset, was captured by Bristol based photographer Jonathan Bowcott
