Mount Doom

Mount Ngauruhoe is one of three volcanos situated within the Tongariro National park on the north island of New Zealand. The other two being Mount Tongariro and Mount Ruapehu. Mount Tongariro has been in the news recently as it has erupted twice in the last 6 months. Both Ngauruhoe and Ruapehu were used by film director Peter Jackson in his Lord of the Rings trilogy. Something he has recreated again as the first movie in The Hobbit trilogy has its world premiere in Wellington New Zealand on November 28, 2012
